RESIDENCY BY COSTA RICAN RELATIVES
If you are the parent of children born in Costa Rica, or married to a Costa Rican citizen for 2 years, you may qualify for permanent residency as the parent of a Costa Rican, or by temporary residency by marriage.
Each parent must apply for residency as the principal applicant.
Dependent minor children (step-children) who are not Costa Rican citizens may obtain residency as dependents, because of their connection to the Costa Rican minor. It is important that the minor be under 18 years of age.

COSTA RICA CITIZENSHIP
To apply for citizenship in Costa Rica, you must meet one of the following criteria:
1. You should have held a DIMEX (legal residence) for at least seven years; or
2. You must have been married to a Costa Rican citizen for more than two years.
It is essential to reside in the country and to have no prior or recent criminal record.
Gaining citizenship allows you to retain your original citizenship if you choose. With this status, you will be eligible to vote and can obtain a Costa Rican passport.

DIGITAL NOMAD
A Digital Nomad in Costa Rica is someone who can work remotely in the country for one year, with the option to extend for another year.
Costa Rica is being promoted as the ideal destination for digital nomads in 2025, thanks to its diverse nature, unique hospitality, and environment conducive to remote work.
It's important to note that this status does not provide legal residency, nor does it lead to residency eligibility.
You can work for one year and then have the opportunity to renew for another year. After that, you must apply for residency if you want to stay in Costa Rica.
